Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Rosteno: Shift, Hours & Pay handles your information. Rosteno is built by Rigour Consulting for Australian shift workers. We believe your work records belong to you.
1. Local-First Design
Rosteno operates on a local-first basis. The app stores all your records in Rosteno's app-private Android storage and Room database on your physical device. We do not operate remote user databases or account servers for this release. Your shifts, hours, notes, and payslip records stay on your phone.
2. Information You Enter or Import
Rosteno lets you store and manage:
- Roster and Shift Records: Shift dates, start and finish times, job labels, meal breaks, and rest breaks.
- Pay Details: Base rates, ordinary hours, penalty rates, and award classifications you select.
- Payslip Records: Gross pay, net pay, hours, and line items extracted from payslip photos or documents you choose to import.
- Work Notes and Travel Mileage: Personal notes and work travel distances you record.
3. On-Device Processing
When you import a payslip image or document, text extraction runs entirely on your device. Rosteno does not send your documents or extracted text to cloud services. Calculations are performed locally on your device using verified award rules.
4. Sharing and Exporting Information
Rosteno does not automatically send your data to anyone. When you choose to export or share information, the selected copy leaves Rosteno and is handled by the destination app or service you choose, such as your email client, messaging app, or cloud drive. You decide when, where, and with whom to share your records.
5. Location Data
Location features are not active in this release. Rosteno does not request foreground or background location permissions, and it does not record GPS coordinates when you clock in or out.
6. Device Permissions
Rosteno requests only essential permissions:
- Boot Completed: Used to restore your personal break reminders after your phone restarts.
- Notifications: Optional permission, requested only when you choose to save or enable a reminder in the app.
Rosteno does not request Internet access. The app does not communicate with external servers in the background.
7. Third-Party Analytics and Ads
Rosteno does not contain advertising. We do not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioural trackers, or external analytics services in the app.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
Because your records reside on your phone, you have direct control over them:
- You can edit or delete individual records inside the app.
- You can delete your data by clearing app storage in Android Settings or uninstalling the app.
- You can export selected records and Evidence Review Packs before removing the app.
